Devon Quilt Show

Val: what a great weekend; went down to the quilt show in Exeter run by Grosvenor Shows and got some great films of quilts, traders and the young Joshua Patton (aged 6) who entered his small quilt into the SouthWest Quilters challenge. We stayed in a great B&B at Payhembury - Yellington Farm (www.yellinghamfarm.co.uk) - which is part of the Devon Farms programme; under 30 mins from the show and the breakfast was to die for (the boys from Bizview tv work better on full tummies I've found!)....

We have a really exciting and packed 4 weeks of films ahead for you and being Friday it all starts today! As promised Lee Brown is showing us how to work Japanese folded patchwork triangles into really interesting cushions and a sew tidy; Lynette Harris - the Stitch Witch - shares with us her passion for Shadow Applique, with a cute little Flower Girl as just one of her patterns; and Sylvia Criticher shows us her new cushion designs 'Summer Rose' , that are worked with trapunto, corded...
Quilt appeal for Headley Court

Val: The Headley Court appeal for quilts has obviously touched the hearts of the quilting groups and they have been overwhelmed by your generosity; they now have more quilts than people who need them (which is great isn't it). Val: Mandy Shaw shows us how to create festive bunting for your home (or garden or any reason at all) and Jennie Rayment gives us tips on how to make 3D patchwork flying geese units; these only have ONE seam and NO triangles - how great is that.

Val: more weekend patchwork fun with Helen Deighan and her braiding discs - they do look like fun and also Mini Mosaics with Paula Doyle - what a great idea; you will definitely want to go and try this patchwork idea out as soon as possible.
Changing your password reminder

Val: If you have forgotten your password, you can ask the computer software to issue you with another one and in return you will get a series of letters and numbers, which are impossible to remember!! However, once you have logged in you can find a 'Change my Password' option at the top righthand side of your screen under the Members tab; so you can then type in something you can remember and is also easy to type! Another option is to ask us, and we'll get back to you.

Val: Under the new idea of new films each week, ready for the weekend you can see Jennie Rayment demonstrating how to work tucks and texture; simple, honeycomb, add colour to the edges and much more. Also a great interview with Mandy Shaw - did you know that she and Jennie had history?!?
