Val: Well our Jennie did it -her first (and last she says) Marathon; were we in any doubt that she would? All those early mornings pounding the pavements, come ran or shine, such a sterling effort and you can make it all worthwhile by adding your donation. www.justgiving.com/Jennie-Rayment As I've said before she is worth every penny, and every penny does count with all these charities.

Jennie: Well ... our Valerie has eventually got to France - short vacation there - she was off to Lanzerroti (spelling!!) but planes not flying so had to cancel - this is second time this trip has been cancelled - last was due to snow! Anyway with luck she is languishing in France enjoying the lovely weather- I have been left in charge! So....... a wild party? Val: My friend Valerie and I went along to see this and it was amazingly busy; needlesstosay we bumped into numerous quilting friends/colleagues who also felt it was a show not to be missed. The museum have gone to a lot of trouble to put this on and included a great new bit of technology in the form of the audio/blackberry which has a zoom in feature to enable you to see the stitching up close, which you can't really do in reality; the lighting is dim throughout to protect the quilts...

Just a quick update as to what's new; Lynette Harris uses a little bit of magic on the site to share with us a Shadow Applique workshop - her little girl, boy and card kit are exceptionally good value, and exclusively to Justhands-on.tv she has added the voile into the kit so that you are ready-to-go. Sylvia Critcher will be joining us next week with her trapunto Summer Rose cushion workshop as well as a more in-depth interview with Angela Madden. Later in the month we will be enjoying meeting...

Val; Jennie and I spent a really LOVELY day at this delightful quilt shop in N.Somerset; De and Chris made us all, and that includes the boys from Bizview.tv, most welcome and we had a really FULL day filming lots of stuff to share with you later - including a workshop with Judi Mendlessohn - and an interesting insight into how to layer-up a fullsize quilt and film about their Gammill Long Arm Quilting machine with the Intelliquilter. Several people now offer this service, which means...

Monday 5th April 2010
Val: As well as viewing the amazing quilts on display, we stopped by and spoke to the girls at Step by Step Patchwork, famour for their superb range or Japanese fabrics; Strawberry Fayre were there with Jennie's Beach Hut jelly roll quilt and their amazing range of plain fabrics; and we said hello to Jo from Villavincrafts who not only runs a shop but also has some holiday cottages - so a great place to go for a retreat maybe (midnight shopping maybe!!) - all coming soon.
