Val:  Well as I said in the news update we have just got back from 10 days in sunny Lanzarote;  this is an island I fell in love with about 15 years ago and if you recall hubby and I tried TWICE last year to get there:  once in January (2010 that is) when we were snowed in;  then we rebooked for April when we got grounded by the ash cloud, so I thought we had better give up trying!

Still we got there this year and had a super time;  we rented a villa through a small family run business (www.lanzarote-holidayvillas.com) who have villas in Playa Blanca (in the quiet south of the island).   We had days of wall to wall sunshine with temps in the mid 20's but cool nights so sleeping wasn't a problem.   A great family destination - only 4 hours flying time from Gatwick and we travelled with Easyjet (cheap, no frills but no delays either).   The weather remains really good there up and through May (after which time it gets quite hot) so a great destination for the family too.

You will have gathered that we had a good time!
