Counting sheep pincushion by Lorna Bateman
Lorna uses the dizzle stitch to great effect in this little pincushion and the kit comes complete with all you will need including needles. The pincushion incorporates a bit of stumpwork, with raised, textured stitches and threads. Suitable for a beginner. Little wired horns complete the design. With I have used drizzle stitch for one sheep, a slip of French knots appliqued onto the background and a couched woollen thread for the third. However, the drizzle stitch is so effective for the curly coats that you could work all three in the same stitch.
