How to Use the EZ Quilting Double Wedding Ring Template with Jennie Rayment
Template and Ruler Demonstration Series with Jennie Rayment • Educational, G, 14-Apr-2022
Classic patchwork and great scrap design. Jennie guides you through colour choice and then shows you how the template works. If you rotary cut you will be more accurate. You cut the arcs from strips of fabric. For each wedding ring you need 4 arcs.
You will cut your scraps using A and B templates. Jelly rolls strips of fabric would also work. Do keep the little squares carefully as they look similar! You also need the B templates to have a mirror image cut. You’ll find fabrics that are printed are easier to use than those that are dyed (as it’s easier to see which is the right side and which isn’t).
You should pay attention to your seam allowance. You sew an accurate 1/4″ and should sew these by hand. Also suggest that you reduce your stitch length on the machine a little as they are tiny pieces, particularly, if you plan to press the seams open.
Jennie talks you through the pinning and sewing sequence. One ring needs one centre section and 4 completed arcs. They make up to 18″ in diameter. When you make a bigger project, they tesselate so you don’t need to repeat all the pieces!
