We are starting the month off with our visit to the Textiles in Focus exhibition that was held in Cottenham village back in February (dates for 2014 are 21/22/23 February) where we met up with Camilla from Outward Images;  Sharon Osborne and the Art Van Go stand and Jamie Malden from Colouricious;   plus  a lovely demonstration from the organiser Pauline Verrinder who shows us how to make 3D items such as seed heads with old scrim.

The workshops this month are Stack the Deck Crazy with Valerie (and you get the chance next month to learn a quilt-as-you-go method to complete the quilt)which is one of those layer up, slash through and sew back together ideas – brilliant to use up stash squares or fat ¼’s ;  Hexagons from Jennie – fused not sewn over paper;  Attic windows with Valerie – no need to get anxious about the ¼” seam allowance or the 45 degree angle;  a tip on starting your sewing neatly to avoid a bird’s nest of threads on the back and a delightful hand sewing/beading workshop from Fran Rose working on one of  her Little Bags.

AND of course we continue with the Superstar Medallion quilt with Jennie;   this month we add the Delectable Mountains border – a great pattern in its own right so even if you aren’t working on this quilt you might like to view this workshop too.

There are a couple of kits left for this sampler which is being sold at a very special price for Justhands-on.tv viewers by Creative Quilting – click here.

and there are no quilt police if you don’t use it to make the Superstar quilt!!!!!
