Christmas Decorations

We continue our early Christmas planning and we are focusing on decorations. This lovely idea from Valerie is for folded Christmas tree decorations which you can have great fun "blinging" up. This is a very comprehensive workshop from Kate Percival, she takes us through all the steps necessary to create these lovely hand stitched decorations for the holiday season. Book of the Month

If you’re looking to make a garland for Christmas our Book of the Month for July, Garlands by Gail Lawther, is just for you. It contains stitch projects for every season, including Christmas and uses Gail’s quick and easy methods. In this collection of designs she has created beautiful garlands and festoons. The designs are fused in place and then quilted using Gail’s simple machine-quilting techniques; you can then embellish the finished projects with buttons, beads and embroidery if you wish. Throwback Thursday

This lovely decoration from Fran Rose combines felt, wadding, buttons and lots of simple beading – there is a 3 bead edging, which Fran guides you through as well as how to fix the buttons in the centre together with their own added embellishment.
