Description

This is a delightful little workshop from Fran, in which she shows how to make the simplest of button brooches, which starts off with some laid work round the button and then a 3-bead edging. Fran also shows how to start the project with your needle ready threaded, and how to finish such important little steps.

According to Fran these little projects can be made in under an hour. She has several books available in the shop covering other simple and more challenging items, as well as another workshop on Fran’s little bags.

If you are interested in the rather unusual resin beads Fran uses, these are made by a company trading as McAnaraks. They are made by Fran Harkes and Steve Cormack in a workshop near Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. Fran does the arty bits and Steve does the technical stuff. These handmade resin buttons are colourful, funky, vivid and of interest to button collectors. You can get more information on their own website at https://www.mcanaraks.com/shop.
