Short workshop notes for Piping a cushion

There is no need to cut your strips on the bias; cut across the fabric which will gives sufficient ease as you approach the corners of the cushion.

Cut strips at 1 ½”wide; join together sufficient pieces to go round your cushion – again these can be joined across – no need to do fancy diagonal seams.

Jennie used #4 cotton piping cord – but of a good quality so that it wouldn’t shrink in the wash.

How to Put Piping on a cushion

Adding piping to a cushion just gives it that professional finish but the idea of 'bias' binding puts many of us off the whole idea; well no longer - see how clever Jennie is in using straight binding and piping cord.
